Spent three weeks away in a small town in Morenci, AZ on work trip. It was an eye opener for me to see how people in a really small town lives and be contented with what they have. I managed to survive the whole trip including 5 hours long distance drive each way from Phoenix to this small town (to and fro), not including another 3 hours of flight journey into Phoenix from Houston. Some times I wonder why I have to travel so extensively for work? It have been exactly four years since I first embark on my first business trip. Although it has been very rewarding and an eye-opener yet I am finding it extremely exhausting at the same time. Next few locations on my work trip list are El Paso, Denver, New Mexico and Connecticut from Aug till Oct 2010, followed by Japan and Singapore for holiday in Nov 2010, and then SFO in Dec 2010. Wonder when I will ever get tired travelling weekly on plane, going through security check and living in a suitcase life.... hmm...

Q1 2010
The past 3 months into the new year 2010 has been pretty exciting. So what were the exciting things that have happened?
Here is the recap of a few things that happened:
January: -
- Went to Calgary in Canada on a two-week work assignment. Did a bit of sight-seeing with my co-workers and visited a couple of really nice restaurants.
February: -
- Spent two weeks holidays in UK and Europe with the hubba, and we had a wonderful time exploring different places. Visited one of the Gordon Ramsay's top restaurant in London and was blew away with the quality of food that it served. Also spent some time catching up with friends over dinner in London filling one another with our exciting life journey.
- Finally, the hubba & I went back SG to spend cny with our families and friends after missing it for four consecutive years. Though it was just one week in SG, it was still great fun catching up with everyone, and eating all cny goodies (I miss it so much over the years).
- Came back to USA, and resume back my weekly work travel schedule.
March: -
- Received the good news of Hubba's promotion at work. Good increment (salary + bonus entitlement package) overall, and we both thanks God for his blessings.
- Received the news that I will be taking over the entire North America project for one of largest clients that my company has. This means more work travel and even more responsibilities given I will be managing a team of 6 people nationally. My big boss indicated that this will be an extremely good career opportunity for me. More stress ... I guess.
Hopefully the second quarter of the years will be more exciting... especially holidays trips to NYC and Washington been planned, and my twin sister will be visiting me from S'pore! Can't wait.....

Here I comes.....2010!!!
- Marriage
Happily married to the hubba, who has make our life journey over the last 8 years an exciting and blissful one. He has struck by me when I've been through downturn in my career and weird phases, and always there for me whenever I needed him. Also, I appreciate his unconditional love for my family.
- Venture Overseas/Career
The opportunity to work in USA becos of the hubby international job posting. I was grateful to my boss in Aus for strongly approved my transfer to the US office especially when many Americans are losing their jobs during this economic crisis in 2008/2009. I am thankful we both have a good & stable job that enable us to live comfortably (able to save for rainy days too) and holiday(s) around USA. Also, I felt lucky to be given a great opportunity to work on a big project (largest client by revenue in US & top 5 globally) that has given me a lot of valuable exposure & work travels.
- Visiting Disneyland in Orlando in FL & Los Angeles in CA
Fulfilled my childhood dream of visiting the world largest Disneyland, not once but twice in Florida and California. It was great and we had fun time exploring around different Disney theme parks. It was so huge that a week in Orlando simply was not enough at all.
- Travels around USA for work and holiday
This is the year where I have travelled so much for both work and leisure that I totally lost count of it. I believe I have been to at least 20 cities/places around USA. For someone like me who never dreams of visiting USA, this is like a dream comes true especially I got paid to do so.
- Watched NBA Live
I was given a pair of free NBA tickets which cost US$250 each by a friend of mine in US to catch the game live between Houston Rockets and Sacramento. It was an awesome experience, and the hubba & I enjoyed the exciting game tremendously. A dream come true for the hubby as he has always wanted to watch the NBA live on court.
- Family Holiday/Visiting USA
The opportunity of going for a holiday with the family. As I am not staying in Singapore, this holiday seemed far-fetched, and also the bro was residing in Canada for his NUS exchange program this year. Bless the God for making this happened in Dec 2009, where the family went holiday to a few places (San Antonio, Austin, San Marco, Las Vegas etc) in USA and spent some quality time catching up over meals, celebrating mum's birthday, shopping and sight-seeing.
For the year of 2009, I was utterly amazed by how quickly time can fly by you without you realizing it. For all the good times, it was like living in a dream. There are definitely good times and the lessons to be learnt and remembered. There are definitely no regrets (although I have given up a good/attractive career opportunity recently and remain in USA with the hubby as he is doing equally well in his career now), and I am thankful to my family and close friends who has tolerated me and stood by me. I feel blessed to have a supportive hubba, a loving family and great friends, which makes life worth living.
I don't know what 2010 is going to bring on, however I believe life is short and we should look forward and enjoy life to the fullest and live with no regrets. Everyone is young only for once, so take the risk and go for whatever you wanna do yet do not dare to do so. For me, I have taken the risk to venture of out SG and had since worked in Aus and USA, and experiencing a different life journey with the hubba.
Thank God for a wonderful 2009, and Bring it on, 2010! >_<

Remiscing the Year of 2009 in USA
The last one year (2009) in USA has been exciting and challenging with lots happiness and sadness times along the way. I have travelled to many places in USA for both work and holiday, and was given many chances to explore around USA. The work travel was indeed an extensive and exhausting one, given that I have to travel on a weekly basis (Yes, no joke about it) for 7 straight months in total! Places in USA that I have been for both work and holiday include the following:
- San Antonio (Texas)
- Austin (Texas)
- El Paso (Texas)
- New Mexico
- Phoenix (Arizona)
- Tempe/Scottsdale (Arizona)
- Tucson (Arizona)
- Safford (Arizona)
- Miami (Arizona)
- Sierrita (Arizona)
- Morenci (Arizona)
- Denver (Colorado)
- Golden (Colorado)
- San Diego (California)
- Los Angeles (California)
- Detroit (Michigan)
- Atlanta (Georgia)
- Memphis (Tennessee)
- Lexington (Kentucky)
- Orlando (Florida)
and a few more which I can't really remember (haaaa!!) The last 7 months was basically living in a suitcase and taking a weekly flight out from Houston (where I am based) to all these places above! I still do not know how I managed to accomplish and survive such an exhausting and challenging task.... !! I am so glad my hard work/effort was recognized by my big boss, and I was nominated/awarded an "applause" award for outstanding performance/contribution to the team/client/company. Thanks God for all his blessings that I managed to survive through the tough and challenging times in 2009, and of cos not forgetting the dearest hubba who has been very supportive and encouraging towards my frequent biz trips!
As I am writing this, I am actually heading off to Las Vegas/Grand Canyon/SFO for holiday with my family in a few hours time. I need some time off badly to relax, and recharge myself (also spending some valuable time with the hubba and my parents), given I will be heading off to Canada in January 2010 on business trip again. (Yes, travel for work again!!)
However, I guess what excites me the most in 2010, would be the planned holiday trip to Europe & Singapore with the hubba in February 2010, that when I can really take a well-deserved break and spent time with the hubba touring around UK/Europe and catching up with families/friends back in SG for CNY! A pair of round trip air tickets have been booked/paid, and I can't wait for it to come soon - 1.5 months more only!!!!! Europe has always been a place where I wanna travel for holiday, and thanks to the lovely hubba who has make this trip happen for me again (he had made my dream to disneyland in Orlando & LA, come true too)
Anyway, I hope 2010 would be even more exciting, fruitful, meaningful and happy than 2009! 2009 would be a year where I will cherish the precious memories, and kept it down our life journey memory lane in years to come. God Bless us as always, for he is the BEST!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! :)
p/s: I have been trying to upload travel photos on my blog but just could not find the time to do so. View the photos at my facebook (add me if you are not a friend on fb).
